Mize, Mississippi, home of the Annual Watermelon Festival
Mize is located in the southwestern part of Smith County at the junction of State Highway 35 and 28. Mize is about 20 minutes from Interstate Highway 49 which runs the length of Mississippi.

Two lovely creeks, Clear Creek and Okohay, flow through the Town of Mize. There is a great city park, now complete with a walking track and playground. Surrounded by pine forest and rolling hills, we are a friendly rural town. We welcome you and offer our help to new residents, business, industry.

Mize has an excellent school system, friendly churches, and organizations and a wide variety of businesses.

Mize has recently undergone development of its main street and is considering expansion of its city park. Mize also has new business. A Dollar General Store has opened in Mize on Highway 28. Visit Mize to see how we are growing and changing.
Mize is located near beautiful Prentiss Walker Lake, (formerly Ross Barnett Lake) where fishing, boating , picnicing, camping, hiking, and other activities are available.
