Aerial View of West Taylorsville Industrial Park
Smith County offers a wealth of opportunities that few communities can match. We have near access to several four lane highways. Smith County has commercial airport access approximately 30 miles away in Jackson. We are served by the Canadian National/Illinois Central Railroad. Several areas of the county are already under rapid development, and plans are in the works to increase traffic through the area and provide even greater accessibility. Potential industrial sites are available in the county, with a portion of this land being site ready. There are ample locations for homes and businesses as well. Smith County offers an attractive rural setting, a modest cost of living, safe communities in which to raise a family, good education and quality health care.

The population for Smith County as of 2006 is 15,788. Visit our demographics page to see statistics concerning other population, sex, educational and income data.

Local governmental authorities are aggressive in providing incentives to businesses locating or expanding in the area. They are also aggressive in applying for state and federal funds to support these projects.

There are several industrial buildings available in Raleigh, and in Taylorsville there are numerous buildings available outside the industrial park suitable for mid-size to small industries, or to businesses seeking an existing building to move into or remodel. More information is available on the Mid Mississippi Development Website.
